Many of us have taken a test that handed us a type. It may have felt accurate, even helpful, and then life went on much the way it had. A label can describe you, but it rarely changes anything.

Personal Insight works with something you can change, which is what you do: the patterns you repeat, the choices you make under pressure, the way you act when it matters. Those can be noticed and understood, and over time you can choose differently, at any age and in any life.

    Four days of practice in your everyday life, with short messages along the way. Then the next milestone opens, a little deeper.

Personal Insight is designed as six pathways, taken in order, each one opening the next. Together they trace one life, from coming to know yourself all the way to learning to endure. Each pathway holds four milestones, and every milestone goes a little deeper into the same ground.

Self-Awareness comes first, and the pathways open in order from there.

Built from a lifetime of watching what changes people, and what doesn't.

Dr. Daniel Snively has spent more than fifty years in leadership development. He has served as an executive in two organizations, coached thousands of leaders and managers, worked with more than three hundred organizations, and spent two and a half years field-testing thirty-seven behavior-based tools before building his own approach.

Through all of it he kept seeing the same gap, between being informed and being transformed. LionsLead is what he built to help people cross it, and Personal Insight is where it starts.

Is this a personality test?

Not the kind you've probably taken. It begins with a short set of questions, and your answers shape what you see next, but you're never handed a type, a score or a label. Each milestone closes with practice in your own life.

Do I need to be a leader?

No. Personal Insight is for anyone who wants to understand the influence they already have and choose it on purpose.

How does the pace work?

Each milestone closes with four days of practice in your everyday life, and the next milestone opens once you've finished, as new milestones are released. Beyond that, you move at your own pace.

Can a group go through it together?

01 Self-Awareness

  • You can't change what you can't see.
  • Most of what shapes your day is so familiar it goes unnoticed: how you react, what you reach for, what you steer around.
  • Self-Awareness is where the looking starts, and every pathway after it builds on what you find.

Self-Awareness

This pathway is designed as four milestones that help you put words to who you are at your core, what you value and the patterns you repeat, on your own and with the people in your life.

  • Knowing your emotions begins with knowing yourself.
  • That's why Emotional Awareness comes second. It asks what you're feeling and why, and what choices you have in how you respond.
  • Then it turns outward, to how what you feel reaches the people around you.

Emotional Awareness

Emotional Awareness builds on Self-Awareness. What you know about yourself explains much of what you feel, and what you feel shows you more of yourself.

  • Seeing yourself clearly and knowing what you feel still leaves the question of what you'll do with it.
  • Wise Thinking is the space between what happens and how you answer it, enough space to think it through.
  • It's where what you see and what you feel become a choice you can stand behind.

Wise Thinking

Dr. Dan calls these first three pathways the golden triangle. They grow together, and everything that follows rests on them.

  • As you come to know who you are, another question opens. What sets the course of your life?
  • Purposeful Living gives that question room, then helps you shape a plan, find the courage to try what you haven't tried, and choose a few trusted people to walk it with you.
  • This is where your direction takes shape.

Pathway 04 of 06

Purposeful Living

The first three pathways are the ground this one stands on, because purpose grows out of who you are. It also opens the last three: direction, then fuel, then endurance.

  • A purpose without fire is a map with no one to walk it. Fire without a purpose is energy with nowhere to go.
  • Living with Fire asks what gets you up in the morning, and what keeps you going when it would be easier to stop.
  • Purposeful Living gives you your why. This pathway fuels it.

Pathway 05 of 06

Living with Fire

Dr. Dan chose the word fire with care, because fire is more than a feeling. It gives light and heat to everything near it, and it doesn't have to be roaring to be real.

  • Hard things come to everyone.
  • Purposeful Living says where you're going and why. Resilience is how you keep going when hard things come.
  • It's built, layer by layer, from what you've lived and everything that came before. No one can manufacture it.

Pathway 06 of 06

Resilience

The last pathway draws on all five before it. Dr. Dan closes Personal Insight here because resilience sews the six together, so the journey ends with strength you carry with you.
